Insert Inspection: 2011 Timeless Treasures Football Rookie Recruits Materials

August 14, 2011

One of the most rewarding aspects of doing what I do at Panini America is seeing the creative evolution of a product from idea to execution. I’m always eager to see what kind of magic our designers will work on any given aspect of a new launch.

For their latest bit of wow-worthy wizardry, I present for your examination the final design for the 36-card Rookie Recruits Materials insert slated for next month’s release of 2011 Timeless Treasures Football.

Obviously, the event-worn material for these beauties has yet to be hand-placed into the cards, but the following images — including a few card backs to give you an idea of what the other side looks like – are still quite striking.

Let us know what you think.

Looks great so far. I have not bought football in three years. National treasures & timeless treasures will make me buy his year. Woodson & Primetime are worth taking a shot.

The heavily weathered and worn concept on these cards is a pretty bold design decision. The overall design and look combined with the weathering reminds me of a dollar bill.

    Very nice I must say.

Hmm, was the beat up design based off of any comments given when the product was announced or thought of beforehand? :) If it was the comments, I’m happy to have helped. If beforehand, great minds think alike!

I do love that beat up design either way. I’m still asking for minis next year with that beat up look though :)

They look very nice. Got any extras lying around the office you want to get rid of lol like the Jerell jernigan or Cam newton. The design on these is very clean and not to overdone. The back also looks great. What people dont realize the back of a card can be just as important as the front. They look great.
