The Panini America Insert Set Inspection: 2011 Plates & Patches Football City Limits

December 11, 2011

As collectors and fans across the country finalize their fantasy football lineups and settle in for another glorious day full of crucial NFL action, we thought now might be a good time to showcase the geographically grounded, landmark-laced City Limits insert from Panini America’s upcoming 2011 Plates & Patches Football set.

The unique chase sets many of the game’s top stars against a skyline or monument from their respective home city, bringing a welcome sense of civic pride to the football collecting arena. What follows is a sneak preview of just some of the cool cards in the set.

Although the following flat mock-ups can’t really do creative justice to Plates & Patches’ intricate foil treatments, they will give you a good idea of what to expect. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional updates on 2011 Plates & Patches Football, and enjoy today’s games.

My guess is that Green Bay doesn’t really have much of a skyline other than Lambeau Field

Ahhh, that’s the Milwaukee’s skyline. When I saw the card my first thought is that Green Bay has changed a LOT since I lived there. lol

These look so awesome!! Are there signed versions or memorabilia? This is by FAR the best looking insert set ever!!!! Of course I favor the Ahmad Bradshaw, but they all look great. This is a set that I would like to piece together! Way to go Panini! Two thumbs waaaaayyy high!
