Go Card-by-Card with Panini America’s 2012 USA Baseball National Teams Box Set

November 21, 2012

It’s flown largely under the radar in recent weeks, overshadowed by the likes of Panini America’s 2012 Black Friday promotion, the upcoming 2012-13 Prizm Basketball release and the live-today 2012-13 Totally Certified Basketball.

All the while, Panini America officials have been diligently putting the finishing touches on another standout product that goes live today: The 2012 USA Baseball National Teams Box Set, a robust release with a definite dynamite-comes-in-small-packages dynamic that should create quiet a bang for patient, passionate USA Baseball collectors.

Each box set includes 62 base cards devoted to members of USA Baseball’s 2012 Collegiate, 18U and 15U National Teams and three team photo checklist cards. In addition . . . and here’s where it gets really good . . . each box set also delivers seven autographs and two memorabilia cards.

Among the more fascinating possibilities available in the autograph/memorabilia mix for this unique product: Scarce Red and Green ink-color variations, Team Focus team-signed cards numbered to five or less and 1/1 Lineup Card Signatures featuring the first-ever lineup card cuts.

In an effort to help you “experience” the product before you get the chance to really experience it, we thought we’d take you card-by-card through the 65 cards common to each box set in the following gallery. After that, we share a healthy selection of the highly attractive hits we uncovered during the recent Quality Control process.

Enjoy this extended first look at the 2012 USA Baseball National Team Box Set. And after you do, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the product. Who knows, we might just give away a box or three as prizes to lucky respondents.

Definitely digging the red, white and blue patches in this release. Let’s hope some of these kids pan out to be stars. Thanks for the preview and happy Thanksgiving Tracy and the Panini America crew!

These look AWESOME!!! I can’t wait to get some. I am a huge collector of Team USA stuff so this is right down my alley. I’ll admit, I was a bit disappointed when Topps lost the Team USA rights, but you guys really did it right. These cards look amazing. Very well done, Panini. One question, what is the price point on a box of this?

  4. November 21, 2012 10:47 am

I was devastated when I heard that topps wouldn’t make the sets anymore. But panini has taken the product to a new level. The base cards have action photos rather than posed, autographs have a better look along with the relics. As a prospector, this product makes me happy!

EVERYTHING about these cards screams WIN! From the flag striped borders to the background flag, the blue and red autos..very Patriotic..the auto cards look very sharp & I LOVE the red autos! Great job as always Panini…! Kudos to you!

Great set of cards. This pays true homage to America’s one and only pastime. As I’m looking at the gallery I find it cool that the red & white stripes are on the sides, and some cards have blue & white bleachers on the top which resemble the stars in the US Flag! The autographed patch cards look amazing but my personal favorite is the cards autographed in gold pen! Those are the main points I can see- as always keep up the great work Panini! & thanks for being so generous with another giveaway.

Are there redemptions in this product? Many collectors like to keep boxed sets sealed for the long term I think and it would be helpful to know.

Now this is a beautiful stars and strips studded set. What a great way to celebrate our national pastime, but with our national team! A product that is sure to have a few future superstars in it with 9 hits per box. All I can say is wow crazy! And the possibility of a # 1/1 lineup card. What’s not to like about this product. The product that Panini has produce for baseball thus far this year are great but I’m definitely liking this one. With this and Coopersatown in the arsenal Baseball is looking up again. All I can say as a collector to quote charlie sheen. ” DUH WINNING”!

Not much about the hobby gets me excited anymore, but this one gets my heart pumping. I hope that I get to bust a few of these.

Is there a reason Team USA sets always seem to be presented as a boxed set versus packs? Just wondering if it is part of the contract with Team USA.

These are kick booty cards, I really dig the base design.

Very nice! I like how the picture/border kinda looks like an American Flag. Clean design! Colored ink autos are always a plus as well.

Great product – soon as they make it available I will be buying a box! Looks fantastic, you guys did a great job. I love the flag in the background and the image all the way up to the top cut. Awesome to have the relics and autos in different colored ink – makes for variation. Really good job guys!

Everything about this set is sweet–the gold signed collegiate marks cards are especially nice! Love cards that have a Team USA theme and these are definitely that. Looking forward to seeing them in person.

Wow! I have waited since the TOS in June for this set. Best looking USA set I have ever seen. Especially like that you have taken multiple shots of each player for different cards. The base cards are awesome and the Carlos Rodon signature double relic is BEAST! My wife will hurt me but I will be buying multiple boxes. Thanks Panini

This is a great product. I love buying these sets because often times I’m able to get many of the them signed! Blake Rutherford of the 15u team is a freshman at the school I just graduated from this past June. Hopefully I will win a box of this! 🙂
