Catching up with Kyrie: Panini America Sits Down with Irving for Quick Signing

December 13, 2012

New Kyrie Signing 1

Earlier this week, Panini Authentic’s Brian Bayne traveled to Cleveland for a few minutes of quality signing time with 2012 NBA Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving. But Bayne didn’t go alone. In his possession: Bona fide basketball card cornerstones that, when signed by Irving on Monday afternoon, instantly became some of the most sought-after, chart-toppers that Panini America will release during the entire 2012-13 NBA collecting season.

On Bayne’s hit list this week: Irving’s Rookie Cards from 2012-13 2012-13 Limited, 2012-13 Absolute and 2012-13 Timeless Treasures, as well as his outstanding allotment of cards from recent releases such as 2012-13 Totally Certified and 2012-13 Threads. As usual, Irving was accommodating, impressive and efficient.

Check out the stunning gallery of what Irving signed, as well as a few images of the man in autographing action, in the gallery below.

    Kyrie is awesome!
That rookie acetate is perfectly fitted for him to sign.
Maybe next year if possible do the same thing for the ones that previously won the awards.
Mvps, all star MVP, finals MVP, defensive player of the year, etc. Awards .
To see him signing on card is so cool!

Hey Tracy I have a suggestion for the next contest that you guys hold. You can ask collectors what their favorite Panini sports card brand from this year, any sport, they enjoyed most. Collectors would also have to include a picture of their favorite card they pulled from that brand. It would be a cool collage in the end like earlier in the year when you guys held the contest where collectors had to show their favorite basketball card. Plus it would fit in with the holiday cheerfullness- just a thought for your next contest:) Thanks again-

Nice cards! would have loved to seen him sign those 11-12 Limited, Gold Standard and Past & Present autos though. Kind of makes me a little sad that i see him sign 12-13 Limited autos and im still looking at this scratched redemption from last years products. Any news on when we can expect those to be fulfilled? Thanks!

Daniel, I agree with you 100%. Why on earth is he signing this new stuff when there is (what I would guess) a huge backlog of stuff to which Panini is previously committed? To echo your question, when does Panini plan to start honoring all the redemptions from the Draft Pick 2011 cards inserted into P & P, Ltd & GS?

Amazingly similar sigs from card to card. I know I would have a scribbled mess after signing a bunch of cards.

hey tracy just wondering when you guys think your going to be able to show us his gold standard auto from the redemption draft ,cant wait to get it thank you

When I read the heading for this, I smiled! I thought that the 2011 draft redemptions would be getting done as well. It was 2 weeks ago that we were told that we would see those cards and still nothing. Are they close to being finished panini? I can’t wait for my Kyrie auto.

I’ll look into these tomorrow. Haven’t heard anything this week.

Some nice looking cards, Thanks for sharing!

How about an update on the 11-12 limited autos. Would be nice considering most of the players have live autos in all the 12-13 stuff.
