Seeing Green: Panini America Rips One Box of 2012 Prizm Football Retail (Gallery)

February 7, 2013

Panini America 2012 Prizm Football Retail (37)

At some point in the next few weeks, Panini America’s retail version of 2012 Prizm Football will hit your local mass merchant (if it hasn’t arrived already), boasting those retail-exclusive vibrant Green Prizms that have kept 2012-13 Prizm Basketball ablaze in TargetWalmart and other large retail stores long after release.

Spoiler alert: Football’s Greens are every bit as captivating — and to prove it, I’ve managed to smuggle an early box from iCollectPanini.com in an effort to produce the following teaser gallery that takes you pack-by-pack through each of the 24 packs.

This particular box delivered two Greem Prizms (Marshawn Lynch and Rob Gronkowski), one regular Prizm (Golden Tate), one Rookie Prizm Autograph numbered to 99 (Brandon Taylor), three additional inserts and 25 Rookie Cards.

You can check it out for yourself below. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional updates.

I wished they sold this in blaster box form for retail as well. Hoping to find some this time. Wasted an hour trip the last time to look for some lol. I like the greens.

I will definitely be on the lookout for these in the coming weeks, excellent yield in this box. Its expecially good to see you can still get the RC SP photo variations in this version of the release. Is this the only format Prizm retail will be in or can we expect blasters and/or rack packs? Thanks Tracy!

Fair enough Tracy, let’s hope the constant nature of the card stock throughout the release deters any potential searchers. I always encourage a level playing field for all!

When will they have these for sale on the icollectpanini site by chance? I looked but all I found was basketball

I wish I could get some Panini prodcuts. For some reason, I can never find it in the Montgomery, AL area. I’ve looked at the area’s 6 Walmarts and 2 Targets. They never have any on the shelves. I used to like your products when I lived in Atlanta years ago but since I moved, I haven’t been able to get any. I would order online but I only want a pack or two here and there, not a whole box. I hope you guys speak to the Montgomery Distributor to see what is up. Thanks.

Sweet Ive been waiting for these Tracy. One question before when you said there was gonna be a retail version of Prizm football, you said that gold /10 parallels would be in the boxes also. I wanted to make sure that there was a chane of pulling the gold’s as well as the green in these retail boxes. The green’s look great by the way!! Great job.

Yes, sir. Gold Prizms are available across hobby and retail in football.

      • February 7, 2013 4:29 pm

That’s awesome! Can’t wait to see if I can pull a Gold then when it shows up at my local Target!

I love retail Prizm Basketball. It is a great value and football looks to be the same way. I’ve never enjoyed going to Target and Walmart so much. I’m trying to put together the base set in basketball and I will do the same with football. With hobby prices going so high, retail is the best buy for me and many other people.

Hey Tracy where can we send fan mail to Panini America?

  10. February 7, 2013 4:04 pm

Some Real Nice Cards. But a BIG LET DOWN these are not available in Blaster Box form. Not Everyone Can Afford the Full Box Price of $72 plus. And with all the searchers out there it’s hard to get any decent packs from retail stores. Maybe next year we can get Blasters in this and NBA Prizm??

Can’t wait! Pulled a 1/1 Jon Beason in hobby!

Tracy do you know if there is a place I can send fan mail to Panini America?

Wowee! Still have not touched Prizm this year. Verse on Ozcards is selling me a nice Ray Allen gold so cannot wait to have that in hand!

Hey Tracey, so what is the incentive for Hobby buyers of the set when you can get almost two boxes for the price of one Hobby box? You also get about two greens per box opposed to one red. I feel Hobby has lost a lot of value with the big retail releases.

    • February 9, 2013 8:26 am

Hobby boxes will deliver two autographs instead of one and more inserts per box overall. There’s real value in both hobby and retail and it’s nice to have a product that’s as in demand in the retail outlet as it is in the hobby shop. Having strong products on both sides of the equation is a win-win that could send hobby buyers into retail outlets and retail buyers into hobby shops.

Hey Tracy, Is there a ratio list on how certain cards will fall per pack, case, or box for hobby and retail? Mainly what is the ratio of pulling a gold in retail? And is red die cuts hobby only? sorry for all the questions but Thanks for the help

    • February 23, 2013 12:31 am

Yes, sir. The reds are hobby only. The golds are numbered to 10 overall, so their tough pulls in either hobby or retail.
