Panini America Swaps Aaron Hernandez for Tim Tebow in 2013 NFL Sticker Collection

Panini America 2013 NFL Sticker Collection Tim Tebow

As first reported by ESPN.com this morning and later by The Boston Herald, Panini America officials announced today that beginning with next month’s release of 2013 Rookies & Stars Football, the company has replaced Aaron Hernandez in its future 2013 NFL products with new New England Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow.

As it relates to the company’s Official 2013 NFL Sticker Collection, that replacement has created a multifaceted solutions approach that includes the following details:

  • Panini America has printed more than 1 million special oversized Tebow stickers to replace Hernandez’s place on the New England Patriots team spread in the album.
  • Tebow is officially now No. 40 on the 2013 NFL Sticker Collection checklist.
  • Fans and collectors can download the replacement Tebow sticker for free at iCollectPanini.com, Panini America’s official online store.
  • Fans and collectors are encouraged to swap their unwanted Hernandez stickers for the new Tebow stickers through a sticker exchange directly with Panini America by sending the sticker and a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) to: Panini America, Tim Tebow Sticker Swap, 5325 FAA Blvd., Suite 100, Irving, Texas 75061
  • Special free sticker sheets with the new Tebow sticker included will be distributed throughout the coming season at various Panini America promotional appearances, including at the Pro Football Hall of Fame during Induction Weekend and at select NFL stadiums throughout the league.
  • Panini America has created 300,000 sticker sheets for distribution in the Learning Express fall catalog.

Wow! Tebow time-does this mean autographs and possibly memorabilia of Tim Tebow will become more abundant in upcoming releases?

Awesome, but how about guys like Julian Edelman, Jake Ballard, Zoltan Mesko in his place in some products? Guys who have very few or no cards.

Classy move guys. I just wish the Pro Football Hall of Fame could be as classy and rescind OJ Simpson’s induction…if only for his recent convictions.

His recent convictions? You mean when he tried to steal back his own stuff? You want him kicked out for that?

Well done on this, let’s hope parents are good about making sure they explain why this is an important switch and use it as a learning experience for their kids. Thanks Tracy!

If my kids end up with an Aaron Hernandez sticker I am not sending it back in. I will just put it away because so many people will send it in & it will make that sticker more rare. But there will just be a blank hole where his sticker would have been
