Panini America Sheds Light on Inscriptions Autograph SPs in 2013 Elite Football

July 19, 2013

2013 Elite Football Inscriptions Main

The Rookie Inscriptions Autographs insert that has provided so many memorable pulls for collectors of 2013 Elite Football during the product’s first few weeks on the market has so much going for it. But unlike the captivating acetate card stock on which those cards are signed, the differing quantities of Inscriptions’ ink-color variations haven’t been so transparent.

So today, we aim to offer a little insight into the relative scarcity of the 39 players on the checklist. Below, we’ve provided a quick breakdown of the SPs and SSPs for each player. For the purposes of this report, SPs apply to cards with print runs of 50 or less; SSPs apply to cards with print runs that are significantly lower than that.

Not included on this breakdown are the rare Personal Edition variations signed by 38 of the 39 players on the checklist. Each player signed 25 of those; Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed has no Personal Edition cards in the product.

We hope the following information is helpful.

Why do some of the colors have neither sp or ssp listed?

So if they are not marked, say blue, there are 50+?

      Yes, sir.

How do you assign, or decide on who is what? That seems like it would be a very interesting process.

      • July 19, 2013 11:17 pm

On these types of sets, it’s usually the player who decides. We present with the different colors and tell them to sign some with each color to create some variety and collectibility. They’re usually great about it.

Tracy, thanks for the info but will we ever see actual print run/ numbers for these? That will help a lot of collectors, including myself, holding or wanting to buy these to figure out the price/value.

    Thanks!

Anyone ever get an answer on whether an exact print run will be released on these? Still trying to make a decision on purchasing the product. As many other people I have to talked to, the answer to that question will be the deciding factor.

Thanks for the update! Though, was there ever one put out for the different colored autos in Prestige? I don’t know if I ever saw an update about that, and I’d love to know if the Lacy Passport red ink was SP or not…

Thats a short print of 50 or less but the personal edition makes it that more rare being each player signed only 25. Does that help answer it?
