Panini Peek: 2013-14 Pinnacle Basketball

December 12, 2013

2013-14 Pinnacle Basketball Main

A well-known brand name with a proud sports card past will step foot on an NBA court for the first time in mid January when Panini America unveils the debut edition of 2013-14 Pinnacle Basketball, a product inspired by both old-school Pinnacle principles (Team Pinnacle, Z-Team, Museum Collection) and new-school niceties (autographs, prime-memorabilia jersey cards, printing technology).

Slated to release January 15, 2013-14 Pinnacle Basketball will hit the hobby in jumbo fashion, with each 300-card box (10 packs, 30 cards per pack) delivering two autographs and one memorabilia card; 24-pack retail boxes (eight cards per pack) will yield one autograph or memorabilia card.

While this next-gen Pinnacle creation will lean on the nostalgia of its predecessors in other sports, it will also offer modern twists — such as etched foil treatments on the Team Pinnacle and Z-Team inserts, Nufex technology on Museum Collection, and the hoops debut of Clear Vision, one of the most popular aspects of the recent 2013 Pinnacle Baseball release.

2013-14 Pinnacle Basketball will be anchored by a 300-card base set that includes 40 Rookie Cards, three autograph inserts, two memorabilia inserts and inviting chase sets such as Artist’s Proof parallels, Big Bang, Jamfest and Scoring Kings.

Additional highlights of the product include . . .

  • Autographs from some of the NBA’s best current players and legends in Pinnacle of Success and Essence of the Game acetate cards.
  • The multi-tiered Clear Vision features parallels numbered to 36, 24, 12 and five (Clear Vision Overtime).
  • Upstart Jerseys and Upstart Prime Jerseys are filled with the league’s brightest young stars and member s of the 2013 Draft Class.
  • Retail versions of the product will include exclusive Red and Blue Artist’s Proof parallels.

We’ll have much more information on the debut edition of Pinnacle Basketball in the coming weeks. But for now, enjoy this first extended sneak peek:

What Basket? cool. Last we saw that was.. in WNBA 1998-99.
Just forgot the golden triangle again. Putting some flashy nufex on the Pinnacle of success would also be cool. Art of cards is when you can’t do it in you old printer at home.
    good work

Very excited! Glad Pinnacle is bringing back it’s presence into all sports. I hope football is next!

I think Football was the top sport for Pinnacle, all the dufex cards was awesome. I do miss Hockey but in time Panini will figure ot the tecnology and make it as awesome as it was. Can it be too much. Donruss Zenith 2005 was realy incredeble with all dufex memorbilia, overkill. Any Pinnacle new is good news :)

I like the acetate cards. Hopefully, some NUFEX/DUFEX insert cards will make it in there!
