Top NHL Announcers Get Regal Treatment in 2010-11 Panini Crown Royale Hockey

February 13, 2011

Some of the most outspoken, quick-witted, golden-piped personalities in the National Hockey League will highlight a unique insert set slated for the late-February release of 2010-11 Panini Crown Royale Hockey.

A colorful cast that includes such gregarious greats as Don Cherry, Darren Pang, Daryl Reaugh and Hockey Hall of Famer Bob Miller is sure to keep fans and collectors alike talking about the 15-card Voices of the Game insert set.

In addition to the four aforementioned legends, the checklist includes Kelly Hrudey, Mike Lange, Cassie Campbell, Mike Milbury, Charlie Simmer, Joe Bowen, Pete Weber, Denis Potvin, Randy Moller and Rick Jeanneret. Even better: Every card in the set is autographed, including many with trademark variations, providing hockey collectors with a whole new array of penmanship possibilities.

Each personality signed just 100 cards and a complete gallery follows. Enjoy this first look and stay tuned next week for an exclusive video interview with Reaugh, the humorous Dallas Stars analyst who also takes a leading role in Crown Royale’s Razor’s Choice insert.

Very interesting set. It would be nice to have similar sets from football, basketball and I’m sure you could do baseball as well. The connection that fans have with the announcers for their teams is amazing.

No Sam Rosen or Mike Emrick? And you put a goof ball like Mike Millbury in the set………… Although it would have been even more of a feat to just limit it to the original six announcers.

The Don Cherry card is nice.

    AWESOME!

Look at that, 3 Kings in there, The King of Kings himself, Bob Miller, Jim Fox and Simmer. Very appropriate for a “Royal” product.

Panini, you’re tearing it up again!

What? No Eddie Olczyk? That guy is practically the VOICE OF HOCKEY in the United States. He does the bulk of the national broadcasts on VS. and NBC. Just sayin’…
