Collectors Choose ‘A Night to Remember’ for Insert in 2011-12 Panini NBA Hoops
Given the rare opportunity to create from scratch a special insert set for 2011-12 Panini NBA Hoops, The Knight’s Lance readers have spent the last month letting their voices be heard.
First, you selected the theme (single-game NBA records). Now, you’ve selected the name: A Night to Remember. Next up is a biggie: We need you to select the 20 players/records that will comprise the set’s checklist.
Below you’ll find a list of 27 notable single-game NBA records achieved from the regular season, Playoffs and NBA Finals. Over the course of the next week, please vote on as many as you’d like. At the end of that week, the 20 records receiving the most votes will be used to create the A Night to Remember checklist.
In the meantime, we’re working on multiple design options for you to vote on. Look for that poll next week. But first things first, we need you to select the checklist. Thanks, as always, for participating. We can’t wait to see which records you select.

I believe that “Kobe Bryant’s single-game record” 3-pointers made is also Donyell Marshall’s record.
I think it’s pretty obvious what i voted on 😀
There seems to be a huge outbreak of Ray Allen votes coming from down under.
I voted for some non Ray ones as well. Just not very many and they all may have been Celtics !
Wilt Chamberlin all the way,.he deserves the recognition.
Again, a lot of the records are only by a margin of one. So you gotta vote for Wilt, Cousy, Shaq, Baylor, Russell. When will Rex Chapman ever have an NBA record card, gotta vote for him
All 3 of Wilt’s records are going to be in this set…could we possibly see a Cut Sig of Wilt?? That would sweet….
hey tracy!
did the creative team give you any feedback on some of the designs I did? i’m curious about what they had to say!
here’s a few more recent designs i’ve done! what do you think?
I’ll follow up with them tomorrow and let you know.
Dang, I hope Panini has an opening in their artistic department!
I don’t see the list.
Should be a poll at the bottom of the post.
Can’t say I like too many options with “attempted” in them… what if somebody got to the finals and jacked up 27 three point attempts… and made something like 4. Would they deserve their own card for this record..?
Probably not, but that’s the great thing about this insert. It’s all up to you.
I think that this insert would be awesome if it utilized both sides and paralleled records by the leagues best performances past and present from the list above such as Wilt Chamberlains and Kobe Bryants amazing scoring performances. Maybe even parallel Franchise records set on the same day, one from the past and the other from the present. Thanks again for this opportunity Panini!!!
That’s a great idea – the records that are really far apart in years they could be paralleled with modern-era ones – like Wilt/Kobe as you have said!
When is the release of Night to Remember?
It’s going in 2011-12 NBA Hoops this fall.
Bob Cousy record because the cous was a beast
