Panini Peek Preview: 2012 Prestige Football
Panini America officials made sports business headlines earlier today by announcing that the company has inked new long-term agreements with the NFL and NFL PLAYERS. With that big piece of business out of the way, the company can now proceed with previewing just some of the excitement to come, beginning with 2012 Prestige Football.
The company’s first product of the new season is set to arrive in June boasting, for the first time ever, Rookie Cards of top newcomers — featuring top newcomers such as Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, Trent Richardson and more — in their NFL uniforms. In addition, every Rookie Card will be updated with complete 2012 NFL Draft information.
To be sure, 2012 Prestige Football, set to arrive June 20, is designed to capitalize on one of the strongest rookie classes in year. Some of the highlights . . .
- A bevy of rookie-laden, on-card-autograph content, including NFL Draft Ticket Signatures, Draft City Destinations Signatures and NFL Passport Signatures.
- A 100-card Rookie subset including the first licensed Rookie Cards of Luck, Griffin, Richardson, Ryan Tannehill, Justin Blackmon, Michael Floyd, Kendall Wright and more.
- Other rookie signers including Morris Claiborne, Matt Kalil, Dre Kirkpatrick, Melvin Ingram, Mark Barron, David Wilson, Lamar Miller and more.
- A 24-pack box that should yield four autograph or memorabilia cards (at least two autographs guaranteed), 24 Rookie Cards, one Alternate Rookie, three Extra Points Gold, two Extra Points Blue, two NFL Draft Tickets, three Prestigious Picks Gold, two Draft City Destination, two NFL Passport and six additional inserts or parallels.
You can get your first extended look at 2012 Prestige Football in the preview gallery below. But before you do, there’s one thing to keep in mind: The mock-ups you’re about to see WILL BE updated to feature top rookies in their NFL uniforms.
