Prestigious Premiere: Panini America Peeks Top 2013 Prestige Football Rookie Cards

May 29, 2013

2013 Prestige Football Robinson

It’s quite remarkable, when you think about it, that a dedicated team of Panini America officials needed less than one week to sift through the thousands of photographs taken by multiple photographers during the 2013 NFLPA Rookie Premiere, select just the right ones, get them clipped, cropped and color-corrected and then placed into the upcoming 2013 Prestige Football release.

That result of that Herculean effort? Only one of the most striking Prestige Rookie Card designs you’ll ever see. You’ll be able to experience that firsthand when the product releases at the end of June; but in the meantime, the following Prestige Rookie Card gallery featuring the 40 players who attended the 2013 NFLPA Rookie Premiere should provide a pretty good idea of exactly why we’re so excited.

The following cards are bona fide hobby history-makers, for they’ll forever be the first Rookie Cards of these players in their NFL uniforms. Enjoy the sneak peek and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance in the coming weeks for additional coverage of 2013 Prestige Football.

Wow!!! No 00 jersey numbers! This is why you guys are on Topp 😉 I personally dig the design and Panini is off to another strong start to a football card season. Can’t wait to see Prestige hit stores again!

Are we to assume photo variations once again as well? 🙂

Seriously what is it with these huge fonts that you guys love so much?

Great photography, but having a huge “ROOKIE” taking up the full bottom 1/3 of the card looks really cheap and bad..

I think the huge “Rookie” at the bottom looks epic. We will agree to disagree

Agreed, if the huge “ROOKIE” is taken out and we have just the classic RC in the corner it would look less gimmickie and less cheap.

I really like the look of these cards. I especially like seeing Landry Jones’s armpit hair crawling out of his jersey. I smell an Old Spice commercial. Seriously, the last two years of Prestige base cards have been done really well. Kudos to the graphics team!

Looks great-I just think the RC logo on the top left is unneccesary and the empty bleachers should have spectators so it looks at least like they are at training camp or something-then again it is one of the first brands released for football

I think the more muted background is a step in the right direction if you cannot fill the stands with people. I like these a bunch more than last year’s Score rookies.

passing on this and elite, just too many brands! I need to save my moola for contenders and prizm! I will be buying some inscription autos on the secondary market! They look sweet!

A round of applause for Panini. I haven’t been a fan of Prestige rookies for a few years, but these are just fantastic. Looks like Prestige is making a return as my favorite early season releases.

Never got into Prestige. Feel like it’s on same par as score most years, but this year score defiantly took a step forward. Still hoping to see all the rookies drafted in score and some undrafted. Not into the zoomed in photo with big lettering. Guess have to wait and see if the inserts look good because the base is very basis.
