Panini America 2014 Contenders Football Retail Exclusives

Panini America’s 2014 Contenders Football arrived in hobby shops on Thursday to a ready-and-waiting collector base that has spent the last two-plus days in a wrapper-ripping, Rookie Ticket-revealing frenzy. That’s certain to continue in the weeks ahead as the many Contenders completists work on building their sets, with one eye always on the set’s various variations and short prints. We provided an early road map to help collectors identify Rookie Ticket variations earlier this week.

Today, we’re going to devote some attention to the retail-exclusive autographs in 2014 Contenders Football. The list below details the autograph cards — Rookie Tickets and inserts alike —  that can be found only in retail versions of the product. We hope the information is helpful — and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance next week when we offer additional information on the product’s SPs and SSPs.

Whoofta. That’s rough. Stick in a few worth going after. At least with a good WR or two. The draft was loaded with ’em. Pretty bad when the most notable one is a kicker.

    But quick question-
would Christian Kirksey have a variation?
If so, what would be the way to tell?

What’s up with the Anthony Hitchens saying Detroit Lions on the front of the card? We have pulled 2.

This will definitely change the way I look at the retail component this year, I think my plans for tomorrow have changed to include an extra stop or two. Thanks Tracy!

As someone who only buys retail, I find some of the of the retail focused releases that Panini has put out very interesting. But after looking at this list… Thanks? I guess? Seems more of a way to drive set collectors to retail than any real benefit to retail buyers.

99 out of 100 hobby products out do retail products and if retail gets to strong the hobby DIES. No stores = no Hobby. ebay and internet sales cannot keep the hobby striving. the fun and enjoyment and the time put into the hobby only comes from Brick and Mortar stores.

I don’t disagree with you, but I don’t have a Brick & Mortar near me.

Panini has been making an effort to give something unique to Retail, like Prestige Basketball (Good) or this (eh).

This list is exclusive to retail, but are retail hits limited to what’s on this list?
