Panini America, the leading global publisher of sports and entertainment collectibles and an official licensee of the Major League Baseball Players Association, announced today that it has inked a limited autograph memorabilia deal with baseball rookie slugger Yasiel Puig for its memorabilia division, Panini Authentic.

In addition to the memorabilia agreement for Panini Authentic, Puig will also participate in a marketing appearance for Panini America at the 2013 National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago in early August.

“Yasiel’s rocket-like ascent this season has been one of the most captivating stories baseball has produced in quite some time, and we look forward to working with him,” said Panini America CEO Mark Warsop. “We’ve already incorporated some of Yasiel’s first Rookie Cards into products that will be releasing soon, but we wanted the relationship to be more than that by delivering his authentic autographed memorabilia and by having him help us entertain our most important fans, collectors and partners at our VIP event at the National Sports Collectors Convention.”

Puig will sign a customized Panini Authentic photo as part of the special #PaniniVIP event.

Puig’s first Panini Authentic autographed memorabilia will be available next month on the Panini Authentic website. In addition, his first Panini America Rookie Cards will arrive in the August release of 2013 Pinnacle Baseball. He will also have Rookie Cards in the September release of 2013 Prizm Baseball.

Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional details on Panini America’s presence at the National and Puig’s appearance at the #PaniniVIP event.

Awesome news! If Panini and Puig need a private, secure venue in which to accomplish any autograph signings I’d be happy to offer my shop! I’m about 25 minutes from Dodgers Stadium at Wax Czar in Woodland Hills.

I like hearing about memorabilia deals, love seeing the other part of the business. Would love to see more of these signings and less exclusives (yeah I’m talking basketball). I would have loved to pick up Michael Carter-Williams autographs in his college uniform

I am assuming Puig will be making an appearance at your VIP event at the National. I think you need to hold a random drawing for invites to the party for those who are not willing to get divorced in order to throw down $6500 on product.

So the next question is, will he have autos in pinnacle and prizm?

Hoping so because everything from the other company are redemptions which few have any faith in.

This is completely OT but, OK so it has been over a month. Are we ever going to get actual print runs for the 2013 Father’s Day cards and variations or just the #/XX or less? I am trying like crazy to complete a set and this would be MAJOR help!

BTW, CONGRATS on getting the contract with Puig! That is HUGE!

Congrats Panini, Puig will be a superstar in the MLB for DECADES! This news will be huge 20-30 years from now.
