Panini America Presents: A Complete Visual Guide to the 2012 Black Friday Insert Sets
With the exception of yesterday’s massive card-by-card breakdown of the captivating base set, most of what we’ve previewed so far of Panini America’s highly anticipated and exclusive 2012 Black Friday release have been special insert cards including either player-worn and game-used memorabilia, autographs or both.
But today, we’re previewing another as-yet-unseen part of 2012 Black Friday, the base insert lineup that spans all four major North American sports and includes, among other things, one legendary rapper, a healthy helping of fabled Panini America themes from the past and the stunning Panini Collection that incorporates the company’s new HD+ imaging technology.
Aside from a stacked checklist that includes two Elite Series cards, original-art-styled Gridiron Kings, Diamond Kings, Court Kings and Ice Kings, 2012 Black Friday’s base insert lineup also includes six cards honoring one player from each of the teams participating in the NFL’s three Thanksgiving Day games just hours before the start of Black Friday.
As for the presence of Biz Markie in the set, let’s just say being the guest DJ at Panini America’s VIP party during last summer’s 2012 National Sports Collectors Convention has its card-carrying advantages.
Just as we did yesterday, we’re unveiling every card in the base insert set, one at a time, in the gallery that follows. Enjoy, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional Black Friday details in the coming days, including additional sneak peeks and the complete list of local hobby shops participating in next week’s promotion.
The basesball ones look sick. And Biz!!! They look great again this year keep up the good work guys.
Looking very classy- Almost reminds me of 2012 Allen & Ginter Baseball…
Those are good..love the different variations of cards. Nice job!
Love the cards! Especially the courts kings!
It just gets better and better.
Nice goodies Tracy!
Love it!
Peace!
Peace, hermano.
Some great looking inserts in this gallery for sure, thanks for the preview Tracy!
Love it. Clay Matthews looks like the incredible hulk! Beautiful set.
I keep thinking that I couldn’t be MORE looking forward to this program this week, but each time you post something new about it, I have to adjust my excitement and anticipation UPWARD. WOW! Can’t wait!!
Love it guys, the design on this set is killer.
You need a deal with MLB………..would love to see a MLB set.
We agree. 🙂
I second that…
The black cards with the gold flourish are pretty kick-butt. You guys really do a good job when you incorporate a little flourish into your design, you should do it more often, make it your trademark.
I agree, was nice to crack the mold & do something different, but being selfish I hope it never makes it & stays here with BF hee hee…
I’m going to buy so much Panini this week that my wife is going to kill me.
We got your back, brother!
Hackler- just to clarify for those of us in the same boat as Mr. Investor …”we got your back, brother.” Does this support extend as far as litigation and counseling? 🙂
If I permitted it, my wife would irresponsibly fritter away our combined income on foolish expenditures such as… food and clothing.
Whatever I can do to assist, you know I will.
Remember the images (and opinions) shared here on the blog are only ours and they don’t work on wives or girlfriends…or husbands & boyfriends. Trust me, doesn’t work for me at home either ha!
Will you be posting how many packs one will get depending on the box?
Yoo-uuu…got what I neee-eed. Lovin the Biz Markie card. Are there auto versions of it as well?
I have a question about one of the cards. I pulled a Mike Trout w/ silver foil but it has a blank back…Is that some type of plate or insert or something? I haven’t seen any type of checklist that explains what it is.
We call those “Progressions” but it appears the market has adopted the term “blank backs.” We kinda like that term, too. They are limited to five of each color.
thanks, so it was a good pull! I did really well w/ the Black Friday this year. Makes up for the Father’s day promo b/c I didn’t do to good on that.
