Panini America Tips Off NBA All-Star Break with More Peeks at Preferred, Select Autos
HOUSTON — Yes, we know that 2012-13 Elite Basketball is less than a week from hitting hobby shops. And we know that the product’s arrival after a few seasons away has hoops collectors all over the globe excited. Heck, we’re just as excited — especially after checking out the Quality Control Gallery. But when you have the chance to preview the kind of basketball card brilliance that has arrived at Panini America headquarters in recent days, well, you do it.
So to help tip off 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend in style, we proudly present this extended look at some of the must-see on-card autographs from 2012-13 Select Basketball and 2012-13 Preferred Basketball that have hit HQ in the last few days. We’re talking absolutely sick Silhouette Primes, dazzlingly die-cut Panini’s Choice Awards and so much more. I am somewhat confused. The Silhouettes on the face of the card say they are Crown Royale, which has been a brand unto itself but your article mentions, Select and Preferred basketball. Are the Silhouette going to be in Select and Preferred or are they going to be in a Crown Royale basketball product? Thanks in advance for the help.
The Silhouettes will be in Preferred.
That Hardaway is going to be a pricey one for sure. Is that Jamaal Wilkes’ first jersey card? Last year the Choice were on card and Signatures were stickers–are these both mostly on card this year?

Fantastic to see the number of on card Autos in these sets. I am getting more excited about Preferred with each preview. Will definitely be hoping to get one of the Rodman, Van Exel, and Shaq silhouette primes you’ve shown in the last couple galleries, although I am sure they will all be pretty pricey.
Tracy, any info on how many silhouette primes will be found in a case on average? Will there be jersey silhouettes for all of the players with prime versions? Thanks for the preview regardless.

Absolutely LOVE that Payton card, The green background POPS him right off the card in the Sonics uniform. Nate Archibald flying through the air is sweet too.
