Preferred Selections: Panini America Basks in the Brilliance of New Basketball Arrivals
For many higher-end hoops collectors, the arrival earlier this week of the quite affordable, quite entertaining 2012-13 Panini Basketball product began the unofficial countdown to two of Panini America’s most-anticipated 2012-13 NBA products: Select and Preferred. We’ve shown you a few glimpses of the impending greatness that awaits collectors in those two products right here on The Knight’s Lance in the last few weeks.
Today, we’re going to show you just a little bit more. Highlighting some of this week’s newest arrivals are stunning specimens from the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kenneth Faried, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Chandler Parsons and many more. Tracy, I’ve tried asking a couple times how many Prime Silhouettes will be falling per case on average? With the double rookie class it seems like there could be a few more of them in the product this year. Thanks for all of the updates, definitely excited for this product.
There’s been no ratio given to this point, but with more Rookie Silhouettes on the checklist, it would stand to reason that they would fall with somewhat greater frequency than last year.

Ok…I’ve been hating on Panini releases up to this point… but ….these two sets look really really good! I love the Kevin Love auto with him slamming one home and the Kareem card featuring the famous sky-hook. That is good photography. Unlike many others, I like the design of the Choice Award cards. MUGGSY! Well done.

No checklist yet. As for a Walton Silhouette . . . I regret to inform you that he does not have any. But he does have Panini’s Choice autos.

I started collecting last year and only had the chance to open one box of Preffered. It was a fun time although I didn’t get any major pulls. I enjoy the booklets a lot. By far my favorite thing I have seen so far has to be the jersey patches! Will any of these jersey cards be autoed also? Thanks!
