The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012-13 Momentum Basketball (59 Images)

Panini America 2012-13 Momentum Basketball QC (1)

The subtle aesthetic nuances that worked so well in 2012 Momentum Football last season are on beautiful display in Panini America’s 2012-13 Momentum Basketball, the hardcourt debut of a brand with collectible roots planted deep in 1990s football. Clearly, though, the Momentum brand crosses over brilliantly to the NBA.

But while the raised-UV design element that brings every base card to life in 2012-13 Momentum Basketball owes its presence to similar stylings in last fall’s football release, there are an abundance of new twists to 2012-13 Momentum Basketball — such as deft die-cuts, a wealth of on-card autographs and the mesmerizing Drive parallels — sure to influence every new Momentum release in the future.

2012-13 Momentum Basketball releases on Wednesday, perfect timing given the fact that the 2013 NBA Playoffs are gaining considerable momentum in their own right. The Panini America NBA Product Development team spent the better part of last week quality controlling Momentum before it began shipping to hobby shops across the country. The following gallery provides a must-see sneak peek of what anxious hoops collectors can expect later this week.

Enjoy this first look and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance later this week for continued coverage of 2012-13 Momentum Basketball.

Love the retired stars. But I have 1 issue. Kwame Brown in a Sixers Uni with auto? C’mon please don’t insult us nor the legends who have worn the uniform. And right next to the Doctor to..I mean Kwame Brown? You couldn’t find anyone worth more than him? I don’t think there is a card worth less than that one. When I think Sixers I do not nor will I ever think Kwame Brown. Put him in on the Lakers not the Sixers..jeesh. Aside of that love what u guys did. Please don’t take offense

Love the throwback players, but the only issue is that the top black section of the momumental rookies cards seems to be easily damaged or even when cutting them they may come with chipping issues. Overall it seems to be unique and that should sell pretty well, and depending on price point I’m sure this will be a favorite for case breaks.
