If the looks of a football trading card release could kill, there’s no denying that Panini America’s Spectra brand would routinely commit something we’ve come to refer to around these parts as “Spectracide.” The extra-thick, Optichrome-enhanced beauty has always been blessed with drop-dead-gorgeous aesthetics. That, in concert with a wealthy share of autographs and prime memorabilia, has helped Spectra Football ascend to the top of many collectors’ want-lists.

On Wednesday, the highly anticipated 2016 Spectra Football arrives in hobby shops across North America boasting an upgraded content plan, a rainbow array of Prizm parallels and the rich inclusions that have propelled Spectra during each of its first three years in existence. It’s a high-end, hit-filled highlight that should be well received by even the most discriminating brand loyalists.

In the revealing Quality Control Gallery that follows, we bring you up close and personal with many of the gems that surfaced during last week’s packout process. On average, each four-pack box of 2016 Spectra Football (four cards per pack, four packs per box) will deliver four autographs and seven memorabilia cards.

Enjoy the eye candy that follows and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage.

I’m pleasantly surprised to see the volume of veteran auto & relic content in this gallery, plus those unique zigzag die cuts (I’m sure they have an actual name, I just missed it) are true standouts. Thanks Tracy!
