Autos Correct: Hot New Ink from Rice, Shaq, Brady, More Arrives at Panini America HQ
When it comes to new trading card products, they simply get no hotter — regardless of sport — than yesterday’s release of 2014 Black Gold Football. After weeks of gradual buildup and intense anticipation, Panini’s America’s newest NFL creation enjoyed a banner introduction to the collecting masses on Friday. Company officials confirmed it as a sell-out by the early afternoon and collectors across the social media universe kept the product buzzing well into Saturday morning with jaw-dropping images of one mesmerizing hit after another.
Meanwhile, back inside company headquarters, diligent work continued unimpeded on upcoming releases that no doubt will be looking to generate intense hobby heat of their own — including 2014 National Treasures Football, 2014-15 Immaculate Basketball, 2014-15 Spectra Basketball and more.
Friday afternoon, I made my way back to the massive autograph and memorabilia acquisitions vault just to see what had arrived at Panini America HQ in recent days. What I found was a staggering array of eye candy sweet enough to claim the teeth of seemingly everyone who’s March Madness tournament bracket is already busted.
Hard-signed masterpieces from Tom Brady . . . Jerry Rice . . . Shaquille O’Neal . . . Kyrie Irving . . . and so many more. They’re all previewed in the following must-see gallery below. Also featured? Some late-arriving Barry Sanders and Johnny Manziel gems from the aforementioned 2014 Black Gold Football that narrowly missed packout but are ready to redeemed immediately.

This is hands down the best looking 2014 Notable Nicknames set to date. If Tom added “Terrific”, you’d have one of the best modern day sports cards on your hands. I like the addition of the nickname to the card however. That takes away some of the blow of players that didn’t add their nickname to the autograph.
