More Gems Surface During Hand Collation for 2011 National Treasures Football

March 23, 2012

This time last Friday, we pulled the curtain back on what I thought was the packout process for the Panini America juggernaut that is 2011 National Treasures Football. Turns out that stunning gallery wasn’t the packout process at all. It was the pre-packout process to weed out cards that, for any number of reasons, didn’t make the cut.

Fast forward one week and the all-hands-on-deck approach at the Panini America printing facility across town continues with folks still neck deep in National Treasures (trust me, if you had to be buried in any product, you’d want it to be National Treasures). Today, though, the troops are engaging in the critical hand-collation process, one of the final steps prior to shipping.

Once again this week, our exclusive peeks into this blockbuster release are in the capable hands of Kevin Haake, Panini America’s Retail Sales Manager who’s pulling double duty this afternoon.

Already today Haake has sent over a Treasures trove of images, which you can access below. He also shot a brief video that master cinematographer Tom “The Ripper” Key worked his magic on — and you can see that right now:

Enjoy the images that follow and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional image updates as the day progresses.

Some of the most amazing cards I’ve seen! I love the pro bowl patches that spell out pro bowl, they look really nice. You guys are amazing!

As I sit in a puddle of my own drool, I would be remiss if I didn’t comment upon the sheer elegance of these issues. The Knute Rockne issue is a jaw-dropper and the Butkus/Hornung booklet is no less magnificent. What you have here is a product that, literally, allows a collector to put hands to history.
    Outstanding Panini.

These look great. They really show a strong patch design doesn’t need an auto to make it top notch.

Love the Product Panini! Nice to see that even Tracy Hackler is human and makes Typos in his email blasts:

Hand packing a product like this must require bibs for all the drool that may come out of people’s mouths.

I will trade my (yet to be conceived) first-born child for that Four Horsemen cut signature book. Seriously.

Is that grass from the old Cartier Field at Notre Dame?

Wow some absolutely brutal patches in there. Gotta love the full Reebok logos. Another great video by Tom as well!

Ok Mr. Hackler….STOP IT! It’s not fair to those of us who no longer have a hobby shop that caters to REAL collectors! National Treasures is a mind-numbing experience and I am now officially comatosed! Great looking product Tracy, but I would not expect anything less from National Treasures and Panini. Thanks for posting!

Just pulled a Cam Newton Reebok Brand Logo Auto #6/10 and the Cam Newton Reebok laundry tag Auto also #6/10 from the same box. They were back to back. Last 2 cards in the box. I am in shock.
