Panini Peek Preview: 2011-12 Prime Hockey

April 17, 2012

The industry’s first game-worn hockey helmet decal cards? Check. The industry’s first hockey sweater lace cards? Check. One Rookie Auto Quad card numbered to 199 or less, one multi-memorabilia card, one autograph and an additional autograph or memorabilia card in every five-card pack? Check.

Clearly, Panini America’s 2011-12 Prime Hockey is — pardon the pun — primed for a staggering debut.

Prime Ties and Collision Course, the aforementioned history-makers, represent the innovative edge of this new release, but there are several other bells and whistles sure to appeal to hardcore hockey hobbyists, including:

  • Prime Rookies NHL Shields
  • Prime Rookies Auto Quad Memorabilia cards
  • Prime Combos Duals and Quads
  • Prime Signatures
  • Captain’s “C” and Alternate Captain’s “A” cards incorporating the captain’s “C” and alternate captain’s “A” from select game-worn jerseys
  • Genuine Marks, the first autographed, game-used nameplate letter cards
  • All-Star Signatures incorporating autographs signed on NHL All-Star Game locker nameplates

Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for more details on this exciting addition to the Panini America product calendar. But until then, enjoy this exclusive first look.

Great looking stuff. Panini is taking a big step forward with this, Contenders and Elite, in my opinion. Here’s hoping Dominion keeps up the pace as well 🙂
