Off-Court Artistry: Panini America Tests the Illustrative Skill of Young NBA Superstars

December 16, 2012

Panini America 2012-13 Limited Basketball Sketch Main

Late last summer during the 2012 Rookie Transition Program and 2012 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot, respectively, Panini America officials asked several of the most talented young stars in the league to show off their artistic talents by handcrafting their best off-the-cuff sketches.

Presented below is an art gallery of sorts showcasing just some of our favorites. From the uplifting sentiments shared by 2012 NBA Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving to the high-brow humor fashioned by Anthony Davis, we think you’ll find these miniature masterpieces the perfect off-court diversion for your Sunday afternoon. Enjoy.

Will these be issued at the Nationals again or redemptions throughout products?

So are these cards auctioned off for charity or are they slipped into boxes or something else? Sorry im new to this whole player drawing card thing lol. It is a really neat idea though! Just think if you made the back side like an actual card with the stats and write up then on the wrong had the players art somehow showcased.

They traditionally inserted as redemptions as part of our promotional sets like Black Friday, Father’s Day and the National Sports Collectors Convention.

Ohhhh I see! Very cool & nice idea! Are these conventions for example, the National Sports Collectors Convention open to the public? I have always wanted to go to one. It seems like a really fun time! It’s to bad I never hear of them being close to Oklahoma 😦 Any thoughts on which promotion these will be given away at? Or are they all going to the convention?

Yes indeed. The National is open to collectors. You should try to make it to one. Great stuff all weekend long.

Any word on the 11/12 rookie redemptions being filled? Almost two months since your draft and no official word on drop date.
