2013-14 Titanium Basketball Retail Delivers Five Times the Rookies in Unique Subset

March 12, 2014

Panini America 2013-14 Titanium Basketball Retail Rookies (6)

Hot on the heels of Panini America’s 2013-14 Titanium Basketball arriving in hobby shops last week, the unique retail version of the product should start hitting retail shelves this week — and when it does, collectors will notice a unique packaging configuration and five different versions of 20 top rookies’ Titanium Rookie Memorabilia RCs. Each $20 retail pack of 2013-14 Titanium Basketball will deliver two Titanium Rookie memorabilia cards, two base cards and one numbered star or rookie card.

Clearly, though, it’s the photo-variation rookie memorabilia cards that will likely create the biggest buzz at the retail level. Panini America’s NBA Product Development team honored 20 of the top rookies from the 2013-14 season with five unique versions of their Titanium Rookie Memorabilia Cards. And to add to the chase, the fifth and final version of each card will be short-printed.

For your viewing pleasure (and to serve as something of a visual checklist), we’ve provided a quick look at some of the cards in the gallery that follows. Enjoy, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional details.

Are the five versions numbered 1 through 5 so collectors will know which is the “fifth and final version” if they happen to pull it?

Interesting concept, any reason that they aren’t numbered? I know the 5th will be SP but how will the average collector know which that is unless they’ve seen the other 4? Thanks Tracy!

It doesn’t look like they are numbered, is there a way to tell the SP from the others?
