Panini America 2012 National Treasures Timelines (34)

Earlier this week, during another riveting and revealing trip to the Panini America production facility, I saw sides of the upcoming 2012 National Treasures Football that I hadn’t been exposed to before — and I’m a better man for it. Indeed, most of what we see and preview from the cozy confines of Panini America HQ revolves around the on-card autograph content that arrives here before being delivered to the production facility for packout.

But there’s so much more to most of our products than just on-card autographs — and most of that magic is created in the relative privacy of the production facility, only coming to light during packout, Quality Control or when a product finally goes live to the public. But a special product like National Treasures deserves special treatment. And in the coming days, that’s exactly what it’s going to get here on The Knight’s Lance.

In the coming days leading up to National Treasures’ April 10 release date, we’ll share the product’s many fascinating facets with you through a series of must-see preview galleries, beginning with today’s examination of the Timeline Materials, Timeline Materials Prime and Timeline Materials Autograph inserts, annually among my favorite aspects of National Treasures.

This year’s Timeline checklists are once again steeped in Hall of Fame legends and veteran superstars — and the 35 images in the gallery below represent just a portion of the stacked checklists for these inserts. So enjoy today’s sneak peek and stay tuned for more previously unseen previews of 2012 National Treasures Football in the coming days.

Awesome legends cards. Very colorful! The predominantly white card makes the colorful patcches and autos really stand out!

Very cool, Loving the Namath and Manning cards! Only thing i’m torn about on these cards and similar ones in the past is the sweet sweet prime goodness being covered up by the letter stenciling.

I just opened #6/15 of the Joe Greene with “steelers” on the front with an all black jersey. Thoughts?

Glad I saw these before buying my case! Gonna go with singles if I could end up spending $500 for a sticker Eli auto, Ryan Fitzpatrick patch and a Keith Jackson. The cards look awesome, just can’t believe a $500/pack product would have all stickers on it’s “big hype promo page”

It’s not all stickers. There are more on-card autographs in this National Treasures than we’ve ever done. In fact, I think just about every autograph we’ve shown prior to today’s preview has been on-card. As for our “big hype promo page,” you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Tracy – it’s the best product you sell all year long, also my favorite Panini product – it needs no hype… I just think that it’s a product where 95% should be on card, considering the price point and the amount of effort/planning/execution that goes in on Panini’s end.

It will sell out, I will buy it, others will buy it – just hate seeing stickers on your best product

Pretty nice gallery, I’ve had some of these and 2D flat scans don’t do them justice. Thanks Tracy!

Beautiful cards! I just don’t know what possessed Panini to make a high-end FitzTragic card….and to think THAT could be the “big hit” patch/auto in a box?? scary.

Can’t wait for the eventual USFL versions of some of these patch cards for the legends like Jim Kelly, Herschel Walker, Doug Flutie, Reggie White, Steve Young, etc . That would be sweet. Wishful thinking for now, though.

Looks AWESOME! Hope I pull the Rice or Sanders for my PC though because when you say “steeped in Hall of Fame legends and veteran superstars” and then lead with Ryan Fitzpatrick…my teeth cringed a little bit…or…a lot. 11 Days and counting!!!!
