February 26, 2014

2014 Donruss Baseball Wrapper Trade-In Main 3

Although baseball’s Opening Day is still more than a month away, some of the biggest trades of the 2014 season start taking place . . . now. With today’s hobby release of Panini America’s 2014 Donruss Baseball, collectors can begin participating in the 2014 Donruss Baseball Wrapper Trade-In Program. While supplies last, collectors can exchange 24 wrappers of 2014 Donruss Baseball Hobby for a special three-card Rated Rookie Pack that features the final three cards — #’s 201-203 — of the 2014 Donruss Baseball Rated Rookie subset.

Although we can’t reveal the names of the three players on these mystery Rated Rookie cards just yet, we can offer complete details on how to participate, which we do after the jump.

The special three-card packs will begin shipping on April 1, 2014. Collectors interested in participating in the 2014 Donruss Baseball Wrapper Trade-In promotion can submit their hobby wrappers (24 for each three-card pack) to:

Very cool. I like when card companies give a little extra back to their collectors. I also like it when this is announced in advance (and not weeks after a product is released and a lot of wrappers have made it to the trash already)!!!

I didn’t realize DR does not have a MLB license (to show uniforms/logos etc.). I hate to say it but I really miss not seeing this on my cards. I will say that many of the pics do a good job of using action shots where the team name on the front of the jersey is obscured anyway. #mixedfeelings

Been looking forward to a return of the Donruss base line product for years. Spent a lot of money to attempt a “master set” of 2004 Donruss Baseball ten years ago. Sadly, I gave up when finding cards became a wearisome task.

I’ll be on high alert looking for parallels of anything Tim Hudson from this product over the coming weeks, the lower numbered the better. I’m sure people will be spreading the word about this promotion so those wrappers are put to good use. Any recommended methods of pack opening for the cleanest wrappers to mail Tracy? Thanks!

1st box purchased and 1st 24 wrappers will be on their way to Panini in the morning. Nice to get some Panini mail down the road!

Nice too to think of spring and baseball when staring at the glacier that my yard is at the moment and staring at another 6-12″ of snow on Monday as well.

This is a great promotion. Just wondering if there will be any press proof or stat line versions of these rookies?
