Panini America Offers the First Look Inside its 2011 Black Friday Base Set (Gallery)

November 10, 2011

Panini America’s upcoming Black Friday in-store wrapper-redemption program has been building an enormous amount of buzz and perhaps even more collector anticipation since the day it was first previewed a few weeks back.

The revolutionary promotion will take all of the excitement, energy and great hits collectors experience at the Panini America booth during every show appearance directly into hobby shops around the country later this month. To start getting you ready for this engaging initiative that promises to be unlike any other you’ve experienced, today we preview for the first time the exclusive Black Friday “base” set.

This multisport marvel includes the top superstars from the worlds of baseball, football and hockey on a rich black-foil design. The set also includes a subset devoted to the top rookies from those three sports and an old-school Elite Series tribute sure to be popular with veteran and ew collectors alike.

Take a look at the set below. Oh, and if you think the base set is nice, wait until you see some of the mind-blowing memorabilia and autograph cards we’ve created exclusively for Black Friday. More to come . . .

I also like the new format of the slideshow to show the images! That’s a nice addition here 🙂

That’s all WordPress there. But I agree. It’s tremendous.

While my wife braves the early morning cold and darkness to fight crowds of deal-seekers in major retailers with newspaper ads in hand, I will leisurely arise to the November sun and make my way to the local card store to partake in this groundbreaking effort. As always, Panini is at the forefront of this hobby’s evolution and this set once again proves that fact. When people look back and see the rebirth of this hobby as a viable industry for the 21st century they will acknowledge Panini as the driving force behind it! Thanks for bringing us this preview Tracy!

Panini’s entrance into the industry was met with concern and skepticism by collectors, and I was certainly one of them.
I am, however, blown-away by the quality of the products and the collector-commitment Panini repeatedly demonstrates. Panini has not only entered the industry in impressive fashion, but they are setting the bar with their product lines and exemplary memorabilia inserts. Really nice job

Really nice to hear, man. Thanks a ton for the kind words. We’re going to keep pushing the envelope and doing our best to serve the collector.

Tracy, I assume that Basketball couldn’t be included because of the lockout?

Amazing looking cards, by the way.

Love the levels that panini go to to support collectors worldwide with stuff like this. And the level on interaction that you provide to the average collector via twitter, facebook and wordpress is awesome. Keep up the good work guys!

I think the best part of this set is all the basketball–oh wait, guess they were locked out of this set too. 🙂
