A Special Panini America Weekend Preview: The Golden Glow of 2012 Prizm Football

December 30, 2012

Panini America 2012 Prizm Football Second Look (32)

Yesterday during part one of our special world-premiere weekend preview of Panini America’s upcoming 2012 Prizm Football, we shared the glimmering first glances at the set’s base autographs and Prizm parallels in their spectacular uncut-sheet form. Today, things take a striking turn as we explore one dazzling uncut sheet of the set’s Gold Prizm Rookie Card parallels.

Graced with a bold, new “RC” logo, an undeniable golden glow and sequential numbering to just 10, the cards you’re about to preview — once in their finished form — are destined to deliver some of the most coveted and high-value parallels of the entire 2012 NFL trading card season, just as their counterparts in 2012-13 Prizm Basketball have become.

In addition, we’ve also included some shots of a few card backs just to give you an idea of what to expect there, too. We hope you enjoy this extended preview and we look forward to hearing your thoughts. In the coming days, we’ll have tons more sneak peeks to share from 2012 Prizm Football, absolutely one of the most anticipated new product launches of the year.

Prism football looks awesome, and I always love the serial #’d cards especially the low ones but unfortunately can’t hardly afford to buy my favorite players of Jake Locker & Russell Wilson regardless of any boxes like I wish.

Very excited to see this parallel set included based on how well the basketball has done, I will definitely be on the lookout for it soon. I assume that these gold Prizms will be hobby only and there will be another, different retail only parallel? Thanks Tracy!

  14. December 30, 2012 6:06 pm

This set is going to be awesome. Based on the production value of the basketball Prizm, and with the football rookie crop, this could very well sell out. I’m getting half a case for sure.

  15. December 30, 2012 6:08 pm

I also like that the Gold Parallels will have us chasing more than rookies mind you.

  16. December 30, 2012 7:38 pm

Will there be a retail version of this as well with greens? That would be nice, though I seriously doubt the football version will command the prices bball has, save RGIII and Luck etc

“ROOKIE” looks obnoxious on the bottom, and the front of the card basically says it’s a rookie rookie card- redundant and not necessary. The team logos seem too small also. Just having a centered Prizm logo on the bottom and a little bigger team logos would have looked much nicer. The basketball guys definitely did a better job. Just my opinion though.

I rather like the Rookie across the bottom rather a little hard to overlook a rc now….will there be any memorabilia Tracy or just auto’s and color prisms?
On a side note I am really looking forward to this seasons playoffs ….Peyton,Brady,Luck,RG3….going to be a great ride to this season’s Super Bowl..already there have been some great match-ups and game results….
    Thanks and Happy Holiday’s…

No memorabilia. Just some great autographs and parallels. Yeah, this is shaping up to be a spectacular postseason. Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, rookie QBs in Luck, RG III and Russell Wilson . . . fireworks!

I watched my first ever football game last night (it’s not a huge sport at all here in Sweden) and I’m surprised because I really loved it! One of the guys I should thank for that is you, Tracy, who sent me a box of 2012 Elite last summer. Watching the game between the Vikings and the Packers while you could look closer to cards of players like Adrian Peterson and Greg Jennings was really awesome! Definitely something I would like to do again, very soon. Thanks Tracy, without that box I would never ever should have got that thought!

    • December 31, 2012 8:44 am

Awesome, man. Thanks for sharing that with us. Really cool stuff. Hope you enjoyed the game.

Glad to see football get the Prizm treatment as I’m not a huge NBA fan and don’t buy as many basketball cards. Looks great. I’ll have to make a special trip to the hobby shop when this is released!
