July 29, 2013

When it comes to Panini America’s presence at this week’s 2013 National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago, you’ve heard things, you’ve read things, you’ve seen things and you’ve suspected things over the last several weeks. But for the record, this post will serve as your definitive guide to everything Panini America has planned for one of its biggest weeks of the year.

From wrapper-redemption details to the Exclusive Panini VIP Party to Yasiel Puig and seemingly everything in between, keep reading to find out every last detail you need to know to be ready when the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center opens its doors to collectors from around the country Wednesday at 4 p.m. Be sure to check back to The Knight’s Lance all week and follow along on Twitter using the hash tag #PaniniNSCC.

The Panini America Wrapper-Redemption Program
Panini America officials have once again pulled out all of the stops to create a special National card set available through the company’s popular wrapper-redemption program at the show and through for collectors who can’t make it to Chicago. To participate at the show, collectors must purchase selected Panini America sports card products from the National show floor, bring that unopened product to the Panini America booth and open it in front of a Panini America representative. In exchange for their empty wrappers, collectors will receive the appropriate number of wrapper-redemption packs.

For those Panini collectors who can’t make it to The National, we have plans for you as well, so be sure to check back and follow along on Twitter at #PaniniNSCC.

Below you’ll find the complete list of eligible products and the number of packs you’ll receive for each box opened at the Panini America booth.

For the second straight year, Panini America has put together a truly epic VIP party that promises to be the hottest ticket in town — and the only way to get one is to spend $7,500 on the aforementioned Panini America wrapper-redemption products with authorized show dealers Dave & Adam’s Card World, Blowout Cards, Steel City Collectibles, Atlanta Sports Cards and Marty’s Sports Card Exchange.

By now, everyone’s likely heard that baseball rookie sensation Yasiel Puig will be in attendance to mingle with party-goers as Panini America’s special guest. But that’s just the beginning. Puig will be joined on the guest list by young superstars and Hall of Famers alike from the four major sports, with the music to be provided by none other than DJ Kool. All special guests will sign a party-exclusive item provided by Panini America.

We’ll have more special guests to announce every day between now and Saturday, so stay tuned.

How do you enter a box war and how many can participate?

    • July 30, 2013 12:09 am

Buy the selected box on the show floor and bring it unopened to the Panini America booth. The more, the merrier in terms of participation. We’ll call out a category — lowest serial numbered card, most Chicago Bears, highest serial number on the left, etc. Participants then open their boxes (one box per participant) in search of the winning card. One winner for each Box War will win a Black Box 1/1.

      Lots of fun.
