Teaser Gallery: Panini America Breaks One Early Box of 2013-14 Prizm Basketball

December 24, 2013

Panini America 2013-14 Prizm Basketball Teaser Gallery (4)

Twas the day before Christmas and all through the land, last-minute shoppers had Panini product in hand. Of course, 2013-14 Prizm Basketball — one Panini America release likely high on most collectors’ wishlists this holiday season — doesn’t arrive in hobby shops until two days after Christmas. But that’s OK. It’ll be live in shops on Friday, perfect timing for those collectors looking to spend some of their well-earned holiday cash.

2013-14 Prizm Basketball picks up where the trailblazing 2012-13 brand debut left off, delivering two autographs, plenty of Prizm parallels per box, a host of fresh, new designs and the NBA debut of the next-generation of Panini America’s HRX Video Trading Card technology. We had the distinct opportunity to rip one early box of the product late yesterday afternoon, resulting in the following Teaser Gallery that takes you card-by-card through our 20 packs.

We struck Gold with one Prizm in particular and landed a pair of autographs that represent both the NBA’s bright future and its proud past. You can check it out for yourself in the gallery below. And stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance all week long for additional coverage of 2013-14 Prizm Basketball, including a revealing first look at the hobby-exclusive Jumbo version of the product and a captivating examination of the myriad Prizm parallels available across all configurations of this year’s brand.

Those gold cards are absolutely phenomenal. If you don’t mind me asking, what are the odds of hitting one of those? I noticed that there are supposed to be *an average* of 5 prizms per box but this box had 6, so clearly it must have been the gold which was the additional prize, which is why I ask what the odds of those are.

It says six cards per pack but there were seven cards in every pack. Is this how all boxes will be? Looks great and looking forward to friday!

The seventh card in every pack is a Panini HRX card.

Will there be a Gordon Hayward auto on this product? I have noticed that in 2013-14 products, my boy no longer have auto cards.

    Thanks!

So based on the checklist there are Orange Prizms, Light Blue Die Cut Prizm, Red prizm…red prizm auto…..are these parallels hobby or retail? I feel like the retail is getting more benefited from prizm than hobby. And the Red, White and Blue is Retail right?
