The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2013 Crown Royale Football Hobby (81 Pics)

February 19, 2014

Panini America 2013 Crown Royale Football Hobby QC (18)

For much of the last week, our Crown Royale Football coverage here on The Knight’s Lance has been dedicated exclusively to the retail version of the product that was quality controlled, packed out and shipped in advance of hobby. But now, we’re ready to focus our preview gaze firmly on the higher-end hobby version of the product.

The hobby edition of 2013 Crown Royale Football delivers one autograph or memorabilia card per pack, with at least two autographs guaranteed in every four-pack box. The product returns flush with its royal calling cards, including the still-stunning autographed Silhouettes Rookie Cards, the Panini’s Choice Award Die-Cuts and the most uniquely shaped base cards on the market.

Boasting an inviting array of hobby-exclusive parallels, memorabilia inserts and base inserts, 2013 Crown Royale Football Hobby offers a different set of collecting adventures than its retail counterpart. You can get a good idea of what we mean by perusing the Quality Control Gallery that follows. Enjoy, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage.

Every year since it’s triumphant and re-imagined return, Crown Royale just kills it. C/R brags some really beautiful patch cards that, were they from other product, would cost twice as much on the 2ndry market.

Does the product have HOF’er auto patches such as last years’ did? Waiting on a Mitchell Legendary auto patch /16. I’m content to wait, as that subset is just sweet.

What card are you waiting on, Jamey?

Yes sir. There`s a particularly sweet Deion Sanders Silhouette patch auto as a Cowboy that I`m looking to procure šŸ™‚

ya know, as beautiful as this product is, i cant help but to think that there is an overkill with rookie cards (autos, auto patches, patches, jumbo patches…whatever). Its to the point that i have like 8 different autos/patches for the same rookie…I get the emphasis on the rookie batch but i need more stars, HOFer’s, veterans………………..just sayin

I agree with Ryan. By the end of the season, put like the Top 25 rookies in the set, and then focus on other players.

As a Chiefs fan, there are only so many Tyler Bray cards I can look at before all my 2010 Ricky Stanzis look over and say “You know he’s never going to see a snap in the NFL right?”

Yet I don’t have a single Panini card of Dustin Colquitt, the team’s Pro-Bowl Punter who has been with the team for years. I also don’t have a card for starting corner Cooper, who had a decent if uneven season as a 7th Round rookie. Those should be the guys you try to fit into later season sets. Rookies who weren’t at the top who ended up making a contribution.

Agree. There needs to be a product that has everyone that was drafted or free agent rookie. Always believed Score would be a good product for that kind of focus.

Nice looking set again this year, glad to see a few Luck cards in addition to the box cover. Thanks Tracy!

The cards look great, however, whoever is taking the cards out of QC to take the pictures need to wear some gloves, especially if the card has a lot of silver on it.

There is a giant fingerprint that can be seen on the Panini’s Choice Award card of Manti Te’o where the text is.

One of my favorite releases by far every year! Its a product that actually wants your attention to collect the base cards. I know I would put a set together. they look great! All of the other aspects of the product works well to and the Silhouettes are the hottest rookie cards there is!
