Teaser Gallery: Panini America Opens Early Boxes of 2014 Hot Rookies Football
Now that we’re two days into one of the busiest weeks in recent Panini America history, it’s time to get cranking. Tomorrow, three new products release to the hobby (2014 Hot Rookies Football, 2013-14 Contenders Hockey and 2013-14 Select Basketball); Thursday the USA plays Germany in a huge FIFA World Cup matchup and then the 2014 NBA Draft tips off later that night. Today, we’re going to spend quite a bit of time today previewing the three aforementioned new releases, starting with 2014 Hot Rookies Football.
Clearly, there’s a reason the NFL season’s first hobby-only release is called “Hot Rookies.” In the Teaser Gallery that follows, we bring you a pack-by-pack breakdown of our three-box 2014 Hot Rookies Football thrill ride. The sold-out product releases in hobby shops across North America tomorrow, but we’re hoping this exclusive first look is enough to hold you over until then.
2014 Hot Rookies Football is a blast to open based on a unique box configuration that delivers four distinct pack types: One 32-card base-card/parallel pack, one 10-card pack featuring eight Rookie Cards and two Hot Rookies, one five-card insert pack and a three-card autograph pack. And within those pack types, there are Hot Pack versions.
The unique configuration begs the question: Do you open your three-card autograph pack first or do you save it until the end? Think about that for a bit and let us know in the comments section below. First, though, check out the gallery. We think you’ll like it.

I wonder how hobby shops will pack this stuff out? Different prices on each pack, or will they just sell by box?

I am just the opposite of everyone else who has posted so far.
The execution of this product leaves a ton to be desired. Autographs of Pead in this? This is his third year and no one wanted him the first two years he had cards. Rainey in Ravens? He was released by them in September of last year! These cards should have been mixed in with Score, where everyone was shorted an auto or relic! Look at the Hilton plate! It has SCORE on it! Not HOT ROOKIES! Why wasn’t that inserted into SCORE packs? And to top it off you load it down with Sticker autos from last years weak rookie class. I will pass on this product.
This looks like a fun break!!! It’s a good looking set!!! I would for sure save the auto pack for last, or at least I would intend too. I’m not sure if I’d be able to hold off till the end!!
Well you could have stopped after the first pack as far as I’m concerned, that TY Hilton 1/1 would be a huge PC addition for me. Excellent looking product as expected, so much color in the variations and excellent autograph content. Thanks Tracy!
Still doesn’t appear to be much information on this. From my player searches on ebay, it appears that the checklist and all of the photography is same as for Score. Aside from the packaging (and different logo on the front), is there anything different? I think the packaging idea is very interesting, just have not seen much information about the product.
