Panini America Recaps the Sights, Sounds of NBA All-Star 2015 in New York (Part One)

February 16, 2015

Panini America 2015 NBA All-Star Saturday (44)

NEW YORK — With huge assists from Modell’s Sporting Goods, the NBA and its biggest superstars, Panini America helped turn a frigid week in the Big Apple into a bona fide whirlwind of a winter wonderland complete with a bustling booth at NBA House, a special sponsorhip of Rocnation’s premiere Roc City Classic hosted by Kevin Durant and Kanye West, and one blockbuster player signing after another on Saturday and Sunday at the Modell’s in Times Square.

All the while, Panini America officials were all over town securing sit-down signing sessions with current superstars and all-time greats alike for upcoming releases . . . participating in Naismith Memorabilia Basketball Hall of Fame events . . . and sitting drop-jawed by the Space Jamming performance of Minnesota Timberwolves high-flying phenom Zach LaVine during Saturday night’s Sprite Slam Dunk Contest.

It should be noted that just hours after seemingly stealing NBA All-Star 2015 Weekend, LaVine was Panini America’s special guest Sunday at Modell’s — with Slam Dunk Championship trophy in tow. But we’ll have more on that later. Today we’re delivering a must-see selection of images and video detailing everything that happened before that, including images from NBA House, the Roc City Classic and signing sessions featuring Durant, BBVA Rising Stars Challenge MVP Andrew Wiggins and Victor Oladipo.

But before we get to the images, take a few minutes to enjoy video highlights from Saturday’s Modell’s appearances by Wiggins and Oladipo — and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage from NBA All-Star 2015, including an exclusive interview with LaVine.

Now, to the eye candy . . .

cards look great, but i can’t believe you let Andrew out of there signing his immaculate 1/1s a. w w 22. last few years it seems that all immaculate 1/1 and NT 1/1s were full names, beautifully signed and most of the times inscribed. very sad to see the last signatures from wiggings parker and exum on these cards. hopefully the NT ones are better. great designs though

Great stuff! What a mutually beneficial partnership, one collectors can only benefit from.
Looking forward to seeing the initiatives, events and products this kind of co-branding yields!
Getting fans closer to the game, and those athletes who comprise it, can only benefit Panini and their loyal customers!

Nice to see KD signing. Did he sign any of his outstanding Immac redemptions or all new stuff only?

I attended the All-Star Game and the practice on Saturday (had to leave early in order to go to the Panini’s Wiggins signing:) and have been putting the full set of the Panini products dedicated to the event throughout the week. l now have the following items:

Panini Daily News All-Star Sticker Sheet 1/2 from February 8
Panini Daily News All-Star Sticker Sheet 2/2 from February 9
Panini NBA House All-Star Sticker Sheet
All-Star Modell’s Patch Card from February 14: Anthony Davis
All-Star NBA House Patch Card Andrew Wiggins (this card is not in the checklist posted in your blog but it does exist)
All-Star NBA House Patch Card Blake Griffin
All-Star Modell’s Patch Card from February 14: Carmelo Anthony
All-Star NBA House Patch Card John Wall
All-Star Modell’s Patch Card from February 15: Kevin Durant
All-Star NBA House Patch Card Kyrie Irwing
All-Star NBA House Patch Card Lebron James
All-Star Modell’s Patch Card from Februay 12 and 13: Stephen Curry
All-Star NBA House Patch Card Tim Duncan
2014-15 Donruss NBA All star set
2014-15 Hoops NBA All star set

The only card I am missing is:

All-Star Modell’s Patch Card Deron Williams

I wonder if the card had been produced, because Penn Station and Time Square Modell’s did not have any patch cards February 9-11, on 12th and 13th they had Curry, on 14th Davis and Anthony on 15th Durant and today they did not have any patch cards. If the card was produced, is it possible for me to get this Deron Williams card through Panini to finish the set? I can scan the Panini products receipts I have used to get the patch cards from Modell’s and the NBA house and all the items above so you can see that I am only missing that 1 card.

The Rocnation sign convinced me to see what the rap names are for Tracy Hackler and Scott Prusha.
    Tracy is Mix Dogg.
    Scott is D. Thug.

The Immaculate logomen booklets look amazing.
