On the Button: Panini America Examines the Prime Memorabilia of the 2015 National

July 27, 2015

Panini America 2015 National Memorabilia Parallels Main 3

You just think you’ve seen everything we have in store for the Panini America wrapper-redemption program coming to this week’s 2015 National Sports Collectors Convention. You’ve seen the base set. You’ve seen the base inserts. You’ve seen the memorabilia cards. You’ve seen the autographs. You’ve seen the special additions. What you haven’t seen, though, is the stunning ensemble of prime-memorabilia cards randomly inserted into those blissful silver-foil packs. We’re about to change that.

In the gallery that follows, we bring you a drool-deserving batch of the prime-memorabilia parallels showcased in this year’s set. The Cracked Ices out of 25. The Gold Pack-exclusive Pyramids out of 10. The hysteria-inducing HyperPlaid 1/1s. And the unique player-worn and player-touched memorabilia within those collection-makers — jersey buttons, hat pieces, laundry tags, filthy-prime towel pieces and more — has created some of the most compelling trading cards of the season. And they’ll be available beginning Wednesday afternoon in the Panini America booth on the floor of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.

But until the 2015 National Sports Collectors Convention opens, here’s hoping the eye candy that follows will tide you over for a few days. Oh, and at the end of the gallery, you’ll notice a small six-card tease of some of the cards coming to the exclusive Gold Packs on Saturday night at the Panini VIP Party.

Enjoy — and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of Panini America’s presence at the 2015 National Sports Collectors Convention.

Great looking cards! Are the Cracked Ice and Pyramids serial #d or just a print run of 25 and 10? Thanks.

Pure filth! Wow. The Jameis Winston memorabilia with the Bucc’ skull front and center, coupled with Posey button…. It’s impossible to select a favorite relic from a gallery as comprehensive as this one is.
What a privilege to work “The National!”

    THack and friends, HAVE FUN!

This may not be the best place to put this comment but I had another page open and lost it, so I’m going to write it here. I have been looking at some of the autographs from this year’s class and I’m appalled by by how many are hardly two scribbles on the card. It used to be that one or two athletes (in a class) signed like that but this year it’s out of hand. These guys do get paid to do this, don’t they? Is there a point where Panini rejects what is sent them? I don’t know but I just find it disheartening that this is what it’s come to.

Mike, funny you mention because I made the same observation when reviewing a gallery comprised of autos from several upcoming products. Autographs now constitute 2 initials, possibly identifiable as English…. but not always.
Some of the NBA & NFL draft class signers are amongst the very worst I’ve ever seen….and I, too, have been disappointed to receive, “Guess the Language!” autographs.
      Good post, Mike.
