The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012 Certified Football (Part 2, 44 Images)

October 8, 2012

Last Thursday, we shared 66 scene-setting images from the quality-control process for Panini America’s 2012 Certified Football, which is shipping now and will be live everywhere next Wednesday. Today, we deliver 44 all-new images of cards that were unearthed during the second half of the QC process.

Some of the gems you’re going to see for the first time this morning: The base autograph memorabilia RCs from Indianapolis Colts superstar Andrew Luck, Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden and some more sweet, old-school Immortals classics. You’ll also get your first look at the autographed New Generation RC for Washington Redskins standout running back Alfred Morris.

There’s plenty more to see in the gallery that follows. So enjoy this last pre-release look at 2012 Certified Football and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance early next week for the world premiere Panini Unwrapped episode starring this perennial football-card favorite.

I LOVE the base parallel autographs and memorabilia from certified, especially the mirror emerald versions. There’s something about seeing all the different variations of the same card that sparks a desire to chase the entire set. Thanks for yet another preview Tracy!

Have always been a huge fan of this product and every year it never disappoints! The mixture of rookies, vets and legends and with the added shine and glistening of the product makes it stand out. Of course, the NYG cards above stand out to me.

Tracy, do you know if the Fabric of the Game NFL die cut patch set is returning this year? I see the team name die cuts are back so hopefully…

Love Certified since I started collecting again – this years looks to be the best yet, especially with some new legends. Are there going to be auto’ed cards of guys like Craig James, Rocket Ismail and Irving Fryar in the Immortals set as well?

Product looks absolutely insane this year. Can’t wait to try. Just hope there’s not a ton of redemptions.

Love the look of the set, but c’mon….what’s it take to get an on card auto? You’re killing cards by slapping stickers on everything Panini. Wake up! Your consumers want more on card!!

    Any response to this Tracy?

    • October 8, 2012 3:31 pm

We want to do more on-card, too. In a perfect world, we’d do on-card for every set. But that’s just not possible. We will keep striving for more on-card, though. That’s why were adding on-card veteran and legend autos in National Treasures this year, and why we’re doing significant on-card elements for Prime Signatures, Absolute, Panini Black, Contenders, NT and more.

Appreciate the response! I guess my next question is, why does it not seem like there is any attempt at all to put on card autos in this product? Could it not have been a mixture of on card and sticker rather then sticker for all?

I have never really been a fan of the sticker auto myself either, but I am more of a fan of those than I am of redemption cards. I’d rather have a sticker auto card coming out of a pack than a redemption card which might take 2-3 months to eventually arrive. In an ideal world, every card would be auto’d on card and we’d have no redemptions.

Great looking cards Tracy! I’m excited to watch the new episode of Panini Unwrapped! My daughters and I are so ready to bust some boxes ourselves next week! Certified has always been one of our favorites to open every year because it’s such a fun break with the a great mixture of rookies, veterans and Hall of Famers. Keep up the great work Tracy!
