The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012 Toronto Fall Expo Inserts (91 Images)

November 6, 2012

When the month of November hits, you can always count on a few things: Turning the clocks back, turkey, and Panini America creating massive buzz with the Toronto Fall Expo and Black Friday. But since the clocks already have fallen back and the Thanksgiving turkey and Black Friday madness are still a few weeks away, today we’ll focus on the 2012 Toronto Fall Expo.

With the largest show in Canada set to kick off in Toronto this Friday, I traveled across town yesterday to the Panini America printing facility to oversee the packout process for our stunning Expo wrapper-redemption packs. While I was there, I snagged the following must-see images of some of the Expo set’s insert cards, some of the coolest cards I’ve seen in quite some time.

As you’ll see in the revealing gallery that follows, the 2012 Toronto Fall Expo set will give collectors of all sports something to chase, including autographs from superstars and rookies. And if you missed our post last week previewing the 2012 Toronto Fall Expo base set, you can check that out here.

Oh, and if you can’t make it to Toronto for the Expo, don’t worry. Simply stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance later this week for details on how you can score some of these great promotional packs through iCollectPanini.com. But until then, enjoy this 91-card super gallery.

So I noticed there are some Prestige basketball insert cards that are stamped with the Expo logo. Is there a checklist of EVERYTHING that is available oit of these packs??? I feel we dont get enough info in regards to the actual complete contents of these Expo and National promo cards. I just discovered last week that a few of the guys I collect were in the National VIP packs from August. I only found that out by searching ebay

We’ll always post the base checklist, some of the other info is left to the imagination…and part of the promo fun is hunting down those details.

The problem I have with that though is there may be individuals out there trying to “pass” cards off as being from the Expo or National that really are not. If there was a checklist then there wouldnt be any question as to what is legit and what isnt. Case in point being you guys DO give out a 100% complete checklist for the regular pack/box products you produce.

Very impressive gallery here Scott, I especially like the Cracked Ice treatment on the Hot Rookies and the black & white treatment to the Team Score cards. The Bo Jackson 2 sport b/w was one of my favorite cards back in the day. Thanks!

So many Chris Kreider cards! My collection both loves you guys and hates you at the same time! I honestly love the look of the cards for this year. I hadn’t really paid attention in previous years to the expo cards which I am starting to feel was a big mistake.

I like how the whole card is covered in cracked ice this time around. Some of the father’s day cards you couldn’t even tell they were cracked ice. Will this batch of cracked ice be limited to 25 each like before?

      Yes sir, 25 or less…

Those are some great looking cards. I have really enjoyed opening many boxes at the panini booth at the last couple of Toronto expos. It has turned into the best part of my trip to the show. unfortunately I can’t see making the trip for this year with only score and certified being eligible to get packs. hope to see you in the spring

Love the Team Score cards. Very reminiscient of the 89 or 90 Score inserts!! Knowing my luck, I would get the Watkins card. UGH!

    Tracy or Scott,
Since some of these cards are not released in officially licensed products, could Panini release draft hat cards or NHLPA towel cards of Yakupov, Huberdeau, Galchenyuk, Campbell, etc… without them appearing in an NHL game, or do you have to wait until they dress for a game to be placed on any card?
Those draft hat cards are awesome! Great work guys!
    Thanks,
    T

We are always trying to do stuff different in these packs but unfortunately we have to adhere to the same rules. Gotta wait till they skate 😦

Really like those cracked ice cards. They look really sick. Just one quick question, I didn’t see any Penguins shown above. So Scott, can you at least confirm if there are going to be any Penguins in the redemption packs? You don’t have to tell me who, I just want to know if I have a chance to get one of my boys cards in those packs possibly.
