Mega Stars Up for Grabs in Panini America’s 2014 World Cup Prizm “El Samba” Auction

June 28, 2014

El Samba First 20 Main

While the first two weeks of Panini America’s 2014 World Cup Prizm “El Samba” auctions have generated their fair share of highlights right alongside the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ itself, things promise to intensify considerably beginning today — both on the pitch (where host Brazil plays Chile and Colombia plays Uruguay to start the knockout round) and on the auction block, where superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Clint Dempsey and Xavi Hernandez made their “El Samba” debut.

Over the course of the first 16 days of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, Panini America officials launched 10 new “El Samba” Prizm 1/1 auctions each day for three-day runs. But today, company officials launched 20 cards — including some of the set’s biggest superstars — in auctions that will run for 10 days. On July 4, the final 20 “El Samba” Prizm base 1/1s (including the likes of Neymar, Lionel Messi and more) will start their 10-day run.

After that, a spectacular list of “El Samba” Prizm Autograph 1/1s will hit the auction block. But we’ll get to those later. Today, we’re reviewing the 20 cards that launched this morning with a complete gallery below. Enjoy the gallery and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of the “El Samba” World Cup Prizm auction.

How is it fair that Panini holds back some of the potentially biggest sellers to sell for themselves than putting them into pack for their “customers”? Something is really wrong with that way of marketing. No wonder it is getting increasing difficult to pull the really “big” hits. Do they do this for other products as well?

These were not held back. They’re a special version of the set made for this purpose. Nothing was withheld from the 2014 World Cup Prizm set.

Nice to see some cool cards up on Ebay. Some was realy good price on. One problem though. Shipping is way to high for international customers. the global shipping program is right now charging some 36.50$ only for shipping a card. Sure its a 1/1 but its not a case of boxes. Cool cards though. hope to see more of this kind in the future.
