Panini America’s Black Friday Is Coming . . .

October 28, 2011

Panini America’s landmark wrapper-redemption programs at major North American trading card shows such as the National Sports Collectors Convention and the Toronto Expo have become the stuff of legend in recent years.

Collectors’ all-consuming desire to devour as many Panini America wrapper-redemption packs as possible has made the Panini America booth the most trafficked attraction of the show at seemingly every show, with overflow crowds standing online to rip copious amounts of packs in exchange for show-exclusive cards that generate buzz throughout the year.

So not long after the last National ended in August, we got together internally to brainstorm ways that we could take this program on the road, so to speak, and deliver similar buzz, good times, great cards and that level of energy to hobby shops across the country. That way begins in late November when Panini America brings Black Friday to the hobby shop and gives collectors a reason to sleep outside for some great hits.

We’ll provide more details in the coming days but wanted to get the buzz rolling with this little sneak peek.

Essentially, the program will operate just like our show-exclusive wrapper-redemptions do, but in your local shop. We’ll send special Black Friday-only redemption packs to all participating hobby shops. Those collectors who go into their shops on Black Friday and purchase designated products will receive an equivalent number of Black Friday packs in return.

It’s the contents of those packs, though, that will keep collectors coming back. We don’t want to give way too much information just yet, but the gallery below should provide just a hint of the greatness to come.

Stay tuned.

Nice, I’m back on board the Panini train as my redemptions are back to a minimum – is there a list of shops we can view to see who will be participating?

Glad to have you back. Sorry about the redemption delay. CS is doing everything they can to get caught up and have made tremendous strides. As for the list of shops, that’s not ready just yet, but stay tuned.
