Panini America Begins Stunning Preview of Next Week’s Father’s Day Promotion Set

June 8, 2012

If you’re either not following the Panini America Twitter account (shame on you!) or simply weren’t paying attention to it yesterday (shame on you!), you missed a white-knuckled, edge-of-your-seat, all-day-long preview of just some of the stunning hits slated for next week’s Panini America Father’s Day promotion.

Luckily for all of us, our own Scott Prusha took the trip across town Thursday to the Panini America printing facility to document packout for the wrapper redemption program that begins shipping today to dealers and distributors in advance of next week’s big event.

So just in case you missed the many tantalizing Twitter treats yesterday, we’re going to showcase some of them again here. Some of the revolutionary reveals included game-used basketball’s and nets from the 2011 NBA Finals, game-worn Kobe Bryant shoes with an image of the shoes uncut on the back and footballs used during the NFL’s 9/11 tribute games during the 2011 season.

Enjoy, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance over the next few days. The sneak peeks have only just begun.

Oooooh, that RG3 is NICE looking!!! Is that a preview of an upcoming product design?

    • June 8, 2012 11:22 am

That will be one of the inserts in the Father’s Day set.

For sure, I just meant if the design was also going to be used elsewhere as well after Fahzah’s day. That has a R&S feel to it. I’m loving that foil’s texture. A+

Appreciate the kind words. I’ll certainly pass them along.

Simply amazing gallery, when can we expect a list of participating stores?

They look quite nice, though that Tebow kind of looks like a broder card. 🙂 So, they start shipping today, but to where is the question? I’d assume you have a list of dealers you can share if you’re shipping. I’m looking at three boxes of Past & Present online (ending today I believe) and want to know if I can walk into an LCS with my wrappers from breaking those boxes, or if I have to buy in store. But I don’t know whom to call to see if they’re taking part in the promotion. Any info would be extremely helpful, especially the online part of it if there is no shop near me that is participating. Thanks.

Most of the stuff that shipped today was going to Canada. But we will a complete list of participating dealers early next week. For our partner Black Friday promotion last fall, most dealers required that you open products that you bought from them in their store.

Can you verify if Past & Present will be available through iCollectPanini.com for the promotion? Thanks.

Just heard that Past & Present WILL BE available.

How does this work. Do we just go to participating shops and ask for some cards?

    • June 8, 2012 3:33 pm

Yes, your participating dealer will have all the information you need. Thanks for the interest.

ohhh i need that rg3… any idea what you have to do to get a pack? will it vary from store to store or do you regulate it?

    • June 8, 2012 3:32 pm

Each store handles the redemption of these packs a little differently, but it’s usually tied directly to the purchase of they had to buy to get the redemption packs.

I echo the thoughts on the RG3. I would love to see that parallel in other products. I know it was in Contenders baseball but it looks even better on a lighter background.

Hey, Tracy maybe you should send some of these out to random people who follow your blog and twitter that are named Patrick, haha. That would be nice, but beautiful stuff Panini!!!

Those shoe cards are absolutely fantastic Tracy. I’ve seen past attempts at shoe cards and they do not look nearly as tidy as those Kobelicous ones! I’ve also soon a lot of positive stuff about the fact that the card pinpoints the details of when he wore the shoes. I know its not always possible to have that information at hand as you obtain GU items through a few different means but collectors love it.

Gotta love that Pammy too ۜ\(סּںסּَ` )/ۜ

The piece of net takes the cake though as it just looks FANTASTIC. Initially saw it via my phone and thought it was just my screen brightness but even looking on my Pc the three initial things that draw you eye just POP, it looks like you could reach out and put the ring on. Kudos to the design department as well as Panini Authentic for getting the items for the cards!

Incidentally on reflection I should note that ascii character is a face not anything else.

To Panini and Tracy: The Father’s Day promotion is wonderful. Giving a nod of appreciation to the real role models in children’s lives, the Father’s Day promotion works on many levels and is really cool. Its certainly good P.R., but the Father’s Day promo is also a give-back to those guys who pour their love into their children and share their hobby passion with the same.
