The Panini America Insert Set Inspection: 2012 Gridiron Football Air Command

October 7, 2012

As you prepare to settle in for an action-packed Week 5 around the NFL, we wanted to do our part on this glorious Sunday morning to get you in the football mood. Our special form of motivation today? A sneak peek at the 25-card Air Command insert from Panini America’s upcoming 2012 Gridiron Football release.

Air Command pays tribute to some of the most prolific pass-catchers in the game today with an arresting assortment of images personally selected by Panini America photo editor Jeff Olson. (For Exhibit A, look no farther than the sweet Victor Cruz phot0 above, card #5 in the Air Command insert).

2012 Gridiron Football releases later this month, following 2012 Certified Football, and will deliver a stunning assortment of base cards and inserts that place a premium on intense action photography. One thing to note about the Air Command preview that follows: The cards will include a foil treatment on the insert and player name area that doesn’t show up in the card mock-ups.

Enjoy the games today, and check The Knight’s Lance tomorrow for Part 2 of our 2012 Certified Football QC Gallery.

    Hey Tracy,
Any more Jordy Nelson autos coming though? I got the dual with Freeman from Momentum and I want to add to my collection!

A nice basic insert set for a collector who loves WR’s. I think Panini missed a golden opportunity to hit this neat-looking set out of the ballpark by not doing on-card autographed set. I know it is tough to get players to autograph cards… 10, 25, 50, or 100 autographed cards of each WR’s would be enough to make some of us go crazy and go building a set of autographed WR’s. if sticker auto’s, I’ll pass!
