Panini America 2012 National Treasures Football Andrew Luck (26)

It’s obvious judging by the search term that has directed the most people to The Knight’s Lance today that collectors around the globe simply can’t get enough previews of 2012 National Treasures Football. And since one of our primary objectives is to give fans and collectors what they want, well, here’s another must-see preview of one of the year’s most anticipated football products.

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s peek at Robert Griffin III’s National Treasures gems, we present this fabulous follow-up that includes Panini America exclusive Andrew Luck, Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin and the likes of Matthew Stafford, Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Brown and Eddie George. Oh, seeing as how the hand-collation process for 2012 National Treasures Football began today, you can expect another gallery from the floor of the printing facility in the coming days.

Until then, though, feast your eyes on these beauties.

I wish someone would make a vet/legend product instead of all this watered down rookie heavy stuff….they look good though but c’mon

Stay tuned. There’s quite a bit of veteran/legend content in this product this year. You won’t be disappointed.

Can’t wait to see the veterans/legends cards. I’ve been trying to figure out why I like the veteran cards so much and I think I figured it out. When I started collecting FB cards back in the day (mid 1970s on), they had airbrushed logos or helmetless shots of the player sitting on the bench. It is cool to see photos from back then of those players put into cards that can actually display the team logos and such. Not to mention the gigantic strides in card printing tech that have occurred since then as well.

    Example: https://paniniamerica.wordpress.com/2013/03/06/on-card-incomparable-newest-autos-keep-bolstering-2012-national-treasures-football/#jp-carousel-44507

Example: There was a recent (although I can’t find it now) card of Joe Montana 49ers taken at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia. You can even see the Eagles “helmetmobile” in the background. The Phillies had a similar baseballcapmobile back in the late 70s early 80s that would ferry in pitchers from the bullpen.

    Great stuff!!

National Treasures has Always been the BEST mix of Rookie/Veterans/Hall of Famers out of any product! The rookie cards are Always the most valuable and anticipated every year and this year there is so much more on-card autos from not just the rookies but the vets and HallOfFamers too!! With Playbook and National Treasures being the last two products of the season, it looks like Panini is making one of the BEST rookie classes and best football card collecting years ever, go out with a BANG!!! This was such a great year/season to collect football cards and you guys at Panini did a OUTSTANDING job with every one of your products! I doubt that the 2013 rookie class will live up to last seasons class but I know the quality of your products will! Keep up the great work Tracy and everybody else at Panini!

I liked last years design much better. This looks a lot like Prime Signatures with all that white space. Still a nice product but I liked prior years design better.

    Tracy,
I have mixed feelings about National Treasures this year. While i love the clean look on the cards this year and the always great mix of rookies and vet/legends, why does each player seem to have so many 1/1’s? If i am following it correctly each player has 3-4 1/1 shield auto’s not to mention other 1/1’s, when this is usually the #1 chase card for the product/player and not just 1 of 3 or more top cards per player.

Also, i dont like the addition of prinitng plates into this product. If you were going to add them to NT then maybey it should have been like Black and be redeemable for the set of plates for that player with only 1 being auto’ed.

On another note, any chance we see a pre release checklist?
