Panini America 2015 University of Nebraska Set25

Panini America is reuniting some of the greatest athletes in Nebraska Cornhuskers history for the company’s upcoming University of Nebraska trading card set that will begin shipping to retailers in the next few days. The unique set features a 50-card base set honoring the school’s most decorated athletes, athletic structures and traditions.

The 50-card base set features Silver, Gold (numbered to 25) and Black (numbered to 10) parallels, as does the Honors insert that pays tribute to the school’s award-winners. The set also delivers a Signatures autograph insert (featuring Silver versions numbered to 99 or less, Gold versions numbered to 25 or less and Black versions numbered to 10 or less). The Memorabilia insert features pieces of player-worn memorabilia and also is paralleled by Silver and Black versions.

Panini America’s 2015 University of Nebraska trading card set will be available in both a 24-pack retail box (delivering two autograph or memorabilia cards) and an 80-card blaster box that delivers one autograph or memorabilia card. You can check out just some of what the product has to offer in the extended preview gallery that follows. Stick around after the gallery for the complete product checklist.

Are all of these college sets coming out at the same time? If so, I’d love to see a checklist for all of them. Some interesting names in the Nebraska one.

Roughly around the same time, yes. They’re packing out now and will arrive in stores in the next week or so. Stay tuned as we’ll preview all of them right here in the coming days.

I’m excited to see who was put in these products. I like the odds and ends like Josh Brown and Sam Koch – some of the lesser guys that usually get no cardboard love.

definitely love to see kickers and punters show up on cards

HA! I know someone who likes this. Am I right Scott?

I don’t collect college cards but I LOVE the fact that you’ve included cards for the venues, mascot and peripherals like the logos. I might actually chase some of the mascot cards on the secondary market. (I would get a set for Marist, but that doesn’t seem too likely as less than 10 professional athletes have come from there- most notably Rik Smits)

    Hi Tracy,
Do you have checklists for the other schools?

    • September 26, 2015 9:53 am

Working on getting each of the team checklists from Product Development. They will be posted here when I get them.

What stores are these going to be at? Also are they box sale only or could someone pick up a few packs if they wanted?
I have no hobby shops within 100 Miles only Target & Walmart

Great early breakdown of this new set, it’ll be interesting to see if a certain high first round NFL draft pick will be included. Thanks Tracy!

    Tracy Hackler,
Just to let you know, card #1 in the set says it is Herbie Husker, but it is a picture of Lil’ Red.

Not really a college collector, but nice looking cards. I am sure Scott will be all over these

One $20 blaster box will net you the entire 50 card base set with plenty of duplicates, so there is a huge amount of diminishing returns in buying more than one box, as you’re essentially shelling out $20 for every box to get one or two new inserts (mostly non-serialized) and one autograph or non-serialized player-worn (not game-worn) jersey. The first box is a good value, after that, there really isn’t a point.

Honestly, the best part of this set is that you get cards of a number of Husker players that have had none or very few licensed cards made of them.
